I was first diagnosed in 1972 with a heart murmur. In 1997 with arrythmia. Then in 2006 I had a “heart attack” After spending days in the hospital having one test after another(with no insurance) My GP finally told me I have Prinzmetals. He said it can be proven I have it because I have no blockages and my T wave is abnormal. I had never heard of it and I too could find very little info on the web. It is not even mentioned in several medical books.I take simvastatin, and metropolol, and amlodipine. I also have nitro if the pains get bad. My chest pains are worse when under extreme stress. I was told it was genetic. Now my brother has been diagnosed with a Twave problem and arrythmia he also has an enlarged ventrical and his mitral valve does not close completely. We both have HTN he has ignored his for years I started taking meds at 26 for HTN. We also both have type2 diabetes. I wonder if there is a connection to Prinzmetls and diabetes? My mother died at age 63 from congestive heart failure and my father has arrythmia I wonder if they could have had PZM? My father is still alive at age 81.He has not been diagnosed with PZM but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have it. Anybody else out there ever been told it was genetic? Anyone with type 2 diabetes? Also does anyone have chest pain under stress not physical but mental? Nancy
